On April 17, 2022, the music world mourned the passing of one of the greatest musicians of our time. Romanian pianist Radu Lupu passed away, taking with him the secret of his touch, his magic of sound, and an infinite musical elegance that made him a painter of the keyboard.

For decades, his performances have captivated audiences. During his stage appearances, this piano poet invited us to dream, magnifying the scores of his favorite composers such as Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, Schubert, and Schumann, taking their works and elevating the audience into a world of meditative beauty.

Discreet and reserved by nature, far from the spotlight and self-promotion, Radu Lupu was warm, full of humor, curious and interested in everything: from football to oenology, from art to chess, from literature to education.

It is this set of qualities, this formidable life force focused on creativity and youth, that gave birth to the Radu Lupu Foundation. Eager to convey a message of hope and beauty, and concerned about the fate of others, the Foundation's goals are to support, both humanly and financially, the creativity of young people in Switzerland and abroad. This is achieved by awarding scholarships and donations, organizing events, and by granting a Foundation prize to a talented and promising musician.

The Foundation aims to contribute dynamically to artistic development, the proliferation of creativity, and the growth and blossoming of new talents.
