The Radu Lupu Prize 2025 is awarded to Maxime Grizard

The Radu Lupu Foundation is pleased to announce that the 2025 Radu Lupu Prize has been awarded to 19-year-old French-German cellist Maxime Grizard.

Throughout the weeks during which the Radu Lupu Foundation committee followed Maxime Grizard during his concerts and auditions, or through documents available on the internet, we were impressed and seduced by the elegance of his playing, the sincerity and integrity of his musical discourse, the richness of his sound palette, by his risk-taking and his public presence, which distinguish him from many instrumentalists of his generation.

We send him our most enthusiastic congratulations!

Trained by Claire Oppert, Emanuelle Bertrand and currently by Thomas Grossenbacher at the Zurich University of the Arts, at the dawn of a promising career, Maxime Grizard will share the stage of La Cité Bleue in Geneva with pianist Vsevolod Zavidov, recipient of the 2024 Radu Lupu Prize, whom we warmly thank for having accepted this meeting. It will take place on November 30 at 17:00 p.m.

There is no doubt that these two young artists, driven by music and surpassing themselves in public, will be keen to combine their ideas and their shared taste for chamber music to offer us a memorable concert.
